Overview
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is a Section 3(a) public commodity under the Ministry of Environmental Affairs and is governed by a Board. The organization became a public commodity on 15 July 2001 in terms of the South African Weather Service Act (No. 8 of 2001), as amended in 2013.As a member of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), it sticks to international meteorological standards and is an authoritative voice for weather and climate forecasting in South Africa.
As an Aviation Meteorological Authority, SAWS is designated by the state to give weather services to the aviation industry, marine, and a range of other identified clients and to fulfill a range of international obligations of the government. It gives two distinct services, which are named public good services that are funded by the government, and paid-for commercial services.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is offering work-integrated learning. So we invite applications for this eighteen-month (18) work-integrated learning program.
We invite all the TVET College learners living with disabilities to join our work-integrated learning program in the following fields:
- Accounting and Finance N6: 2 Positions (Reference: FIN 2024)
Candidates must satisfy the following requirements:
- An applicant should be a learner living with a disability who has just completed an N6 in one of the above-mentioned fields of study.
- An applicant has been unemployed for a period of less than one year after the completion of N6.
- An applicant will be required to submit their CVs on the SAWS recruitment portal (clearly outline ID, address, etc.) and should not have work experience.
Successful Applicants will get the following:
- Will be paid a monthly stipend of R5500 and will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation and transport to the respective SAWS Centurion offices.
Please note that SAWS is under no responsibility to employ the learners upon the fulfillment of the programme.
