About Us
To join our team, we are now looking for a committed and motivated SHE intern. Under the supervision of our knowledgeable SHE Manager, you will have the chance to help and support our Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) department as an intern.
The Minimum Responsibilities
- Shadow a mentor on tasks to gain hands-on experience in supporting the SHE department and Help in compiling Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA’s) and Aspect Impact assessments.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements such as OHS Act, NEMA, Air Quality, and Waste management, and support environmental monitoring activities including boreholes, dust, and effluents.
- Help in closing findings after internal audits, inspections, and certification audits.
- Compile monthly reports and assist with sustainability reporting.
- Manage contractor safety files, site access, and collate, arrange, record, and report on training as per OSHACT requirements.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and emergency exercises.
- Help in incident investigations and managing the recycling center and waste and also help in drawing up and managing effective surveillance programs as required by regulations.
- Help with reporting and follow-up on incidents and Maintain licenses, permits, and ISO certifications.
- Update notice boards and handle administrative tasks related to the SHE Office.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent NQF 7 qualification in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or Environmental Management and Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Commitment to meeting deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills and proactive thinking ability.
- Attention to detail, effective time management, and Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Code 08 Driver’s License.
